A Preview of the Final Few Days

Today at 3:00 we will be testifying on behalf of our insurance reform bill in the House Insurance Committee.  Considering we’ve removed the opposition, we should make quick work of this matter and hopefully have a final vote today or tomorrow.

The Chicago Tribune laid out some of the larger issues still facing legislators here.  Although the crack about them taking a 24-hour break seems like a bit of a cheap shot – they started session at 8:30am yesterday and committees start at 3:00pm today.  Other than that however it quickly reviews some of the major issues still before both chambers: budget, pensions, retiree health care, the ComEd smart grid, work comp, redistricting and gambling.

The STL Today provided some more coverage regarding the new 150-page workers’ compensation bill here.
