Workers’ Comp Passed Senate

It appears we are going to have a new Workers’ Compensation Package in Illinois fairly soon.  Despite the efforts of the Medical community HB1698 Senate Amendments 3 & 5 passed the Senate today 46-8-2.  Only two members of the opposition were allowed to formally speak against the bill in committee, and it was done very well by the Medical Society and the Hospital Association.  With a 30% fee schedule cut, all of the provider groups are pretty much on the same page.  Both DCs and PTs supported Senate Amendment 4 which would have reduced the cut to only 10% for CPT codes 97000-99990, but in the end that amendment wasn’t heard for debate.
