Oxygen on the Fast Track

Today was the second day that the House was back in Springfield and we were able to move our Oxygen Bill out of committee. Representative Phelps was not present to call our bill but the rumor is that he was back in his home district helping sandbag for the impeding flood in southern Illinois. Rep. Reitz agreed to our request to, as the chairman of the committee, call the bill on Rep. Phelp’s behalf. Our bill passed committee this morning and we are working to get more co-sponsors attached to the bill to keep our momentum high. So far we have Representatives Phelps, Beiser, Mussman and Gordon sponsoring our bill.

We’re also gearing up for an exciting Lobby Day down here in Springfield on May 4th. We will have chiropractic physicians from all over the state talking to their legislators about all of our important health related concerns in Illinois. If you’re an ICS member and would like to participate, please contact the ICS office at (217) 525-1200.
